I am from this town and want to volunteer
Chair of Lockington Planning Group, Wendy Sims said,
“I am thrilled to be part of the Lockington community. Being a recipient town of the 10 Town Makeover Initiative with Rural Aid is a great privilege.” “Getting outside assistance with projects is exactly what our volunteers need. The belief shown in our community as being viable and worthwhile will be a great boost to the town’s morale. Projects will include walking tracks and increasing awareness of what Lockington has to offer to visitors to the town.”

It is a small town with a very big heart. Everyone works together to get projects done. 16 years ago, when the only fuel station closed, the town got together and purchased the building. Run by volunteers we still sell fuel and now the building also houses the Community Bank, Neighbourhood House, Men’s shed, Laundry, Op Shop and next door is the community garden.

Our hotel is about to close, so again the town has rallied, and it will soon commence trading as a Co-Op with over 100 community members being involved. Whenever there is a need, at either a personal level or community level – the town is there for you

Scare crow competition

Photo is of a vacant block of land in the main street of Lockington the town uses for all types of community activities. In this picture, the community used the land for a scare crow competition and to brighten up the street.
