Rural Aid was founded in 2015 to provide a central point of focus for rural communities who require assistance. We operate on a nationwide basis.
As a charity, Rural Aid is charged with meeting the following objects:
The Company is established as a charity which has the primary purpose to provide assistance to relieve the poverty, illness, distress or significant and unusual disadvantage of individuals and families conducting, directly or indirectly, primary production businesses and who are or have been adversely affected by acts of God (including, without limitation, droughts, floods and other natural disasters).
The starting point for the charity was the success of the Buy a Bale campaign, which to date has distributed over $10 million ( August 2018) worth of fodder to farmers around Australia.
We understand the needs of our primary producers and aim to lend a helping hand when times are tough. With the Buy a Bale program, we know that a whole truckload of hay at once isn’t always helpful, and have committed to providing smaller deliveries more frequently. Recent weather events such as fires and cyclones have meant that there is even more call for our services than ever before.
We have a number of programs designed with rebuilding and repairing in mind. These include the Farm Rescue and Weekend Warriors programs, as well as the Farm Army job board where farmers can find help that they need.
