Contestant No 3
Ali Sacipovic is a Country Music Singer from Boulia, a small country town 400km north of Winton and 300km south west of Mount Isa. Ali’s music is inspired by artists such as George Strait, Brooks’n’Dunn, Alan Jackson, Adam Harvey and Troy Cassar-Daley. Ali is currently working with Rob Mackay and Pacific International Music Record Producers on releasing his first EP. This EP is set to be released in September of 2016. Ali has a traditional country style to his songs and with his contemporary sounding voice his songs are appealing to country music fans of all ages. His songs are based around life on the land, famous country music singers and the legends that entertain us in the rodeo circuit.
Ali has spent the majority of his life in Far North Western Queensland, where he has worked as a Plumber, Underground Miner and Road Contractor. However his love of singing has also been there, whether he is singing to his work crew while camped out on the Plenty Highway between Boulia and Alice Springs for weeks at a time, or heading down to the ‘local’ in Mt Isa with his crew for a bit of Karaoke on his days off, Ali has always had a love for singing and performing. He began his singing career in Boulia and the surrounding shires, where he became something of a “local hero”, performing at community events, at pubs and clubs and where he performed alongside Steve Forde. Ali moved to Hervey Bay with his wife and 3 children in 2015 and has been working hard, writing songs and performing at rodeos, campdrafts and community events around the South East and Western corners of Queensland.
On the touring front Ali has performed in front of thousands at the Bedourie Races, Boulia Camel Races and Teebar Rodeo, he is set to perform at the Hayrunners Drought Relief Concert in Brisbane, Westmar Rodeo, and Warwick Rodeo and Campdraft. Each year on the third weekend in July, Ali returns home to Boulia and plays for the crowds at the ‘Melbourne Cup of Camel Racing’- Boulia Camel Races, an event where Ali has not only sung at but has also been a jockey in!
Ali is a country man whose songs reflect his strong country pride- his hard work and unique country voice keep him determined to grow as an Australian Country Music Artist.
What would it mean if you won this competition.
Where do I start? Nashville, Ute Musters and an opportunity to do what I love doing most, singing.
I am Ali S and I’m a Country Music Singer/Songwriter from a very small town called Boulia, which is located 300 km south west of Mt Isa and 400km north of Winton and has a population of 300 people.
So the thought that I am fortunate enough even to perform one of my own original songs on stage for thousands at Doomben Races and that some of the greatest country music stars of all time will be there, is truly amazing and humbling. To then think that I have a chance to win this competition is a little beyond believable at the moment.
I’m struggling to find words to explain what it would mean to win this competition. All of my hopes, dreams, hard work, would be rewarded and most importantly my children would learn that if you have a dream chase it!! No matter- where you come from, what you do or how old you are, you only live once, give your dreams a chance to become reality.
Wow!! Performing at the Show and Shine Ute Muster…… Well Well Well. This is the most amazing opportunity, performing at the Greatest Ute Show of all, now that is mind blowing. A small town boy, from Boulia up on stage singing his originals, I don’t even think there are words to describe what this would mean. To have the opportunity to perform on a stage which has seen greats, such as Troy Cassar-Daley, Lee Kernaghan, John Williamson, Jimmy Barnes, James Reyne, not to mention Keith Urban and the Sunny Cowgirls, unbelievable. I thought I was pretty special being able to see the Sonny Cowgirls performing in Winton a few years ago, let alone performing at event alongside these girls.
Winning this competition and going to Nashville, well considering I’ve only left Queensland, once in my life time this would be something pretty special. It would not only mean that I could thank my wife for all her support, hard work and dedication to me and my music career, over the years. It would mean that I have the opportunity to personally meet the artists who worked with me and my producer Rob Mackay at Pacific International Records on producing, my debut album and thank them with a handshake and a cold beer.
As my song says ‘I’d like to meet these fellas one day and be their encore on a stage somewhere in LA’, going to Nashville would give me a chance to meet the people who developed my love of ‘Country Music’ and inspired me to become a singer/songwriter.
What it would mean to me to win this completion- it would mean the opportunity for me to take my hopes and dreams and start to turn them into life experiences. I’m just a good ol’ boy form Queensland there’s one thing more that I’d like to say………………………………………….
