There are several ways that your workplace can get involved in supporting rural Australia.
Check out some of them below:
- Buy a Bale – Providing tangible resources to drought, flood and fire affected communities, such as stock feed, water, financial assistance and volunteers.
- Community Rescue – Providing restoration to help with the longevity and sustainability of farms and rural communities
- Gift of Music – Providing support for disadvantaged children and youth in rural and remote Australia, by supplying newly purchased and refurbished donated instruments to schools to add to or instigate music programs.
- Mental Health Counselling – Providing a free counselling service which supports rural communities across Australia with full time mental health counsellors on the ground.
Many workplaces will have Workplace Giving options available, giving you the opportunity to deduct an amount you determine from your pre-tax pay to be donated to a charity of your choice. This can be an incredibly effective, low-cost funding model that can assist us enormously in helping the farming families of Australia.
Some companies will even match your donation, doubling the impact of your generosity. And if you make a donation directly from your pay, it’s tax free! Even the smallest amount can make a difference.
Speak to your employer about workplace giving and your options to make Rural Aid your charity of choice. You can also check if your workplace is signed up to the Good2Give platform, making workplace giving easy as ever!
Workplace fundraiser Get your staff and customers involved in Lending a Hand for the land by hosting a fundraising event in your office or workplace!
Below are some examples of what you can do, but you can also contact our fundraising team at email@example.com to brainstorm some new ideas.
- Gold Coin Day
Host a Gold Coin Day for our farmers. Turn your gold coins into hay for our drought-stricken famers. Host a lunch where you ask your staff to bring in a plate and a gold coin (or a fiver) to raise money for our farmers, have some fun and encourage your team to wear a flannel or an Akubra to help raise awareness for our farmers and rural communities.
- Truck Poster Fundraiser
Host a Truck Poster Fundraiser to see if your workplace can raise enough money to fill a full truck load of hay. Order our truck poster and stickers and for every $20 or $50 donation, you write the name of the donor / employee on the sticker and place it on the poster. Easy as!
- Donation Barrel
Order a Donation Barrel available for distribution across Australia to companies who would like to lend a hand for the land. Perfect for placement in your retail store, venue or outlet.
- Parma for a Farmer
Do you work for or manage a restaurant or pub? Our Parma for a Farmer is live and offers a way for your venue to encourage your customers and communiy to get involved and lend a hand for the land. Donate $1 from every parmy you sell during a period of time or a specific Parma for a Farmer event and raise money for our farmers.
There are several ways to get your staff engaged in lending a hand for the land. Corporate Volunteering with Rural Aid will be a whole new experience for your company and your team members. If you, like most organisations, are looking for CSR engagement and an opportunity for your staff to do something that achieves results and is a bit different, Rural Aid is your partner.
We’ve created a program that gives companies a fully immersed farm experience and helps our rural communities at the same time. We’ll take you and your team onto a farm within an hour or so of Brisbane or Sydney. We’ll organise transport to and from, meals and drinks, protective clothing if required and for longer trips, organise accommodation. We look after you completely from start to finish and your team will have an amazing day or week and create many lifelong memories.
Not exactly what you’re looking for? Contact our fundraising team at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss further options.
