Subject : Farm Army Surpasses 6000 Members
Rural Aid Ltd is excited to announce that their Farm Army venture, a database of volunteers who are actively assisting rural Australians, have reached 6000 members.
“The Farm Army is a unique way for farmers and other rural Australians to connect with people who are keen to get in and do some hard work,” said Charles Alder, Chief Executive Officer, Rural Aid Limited. “We are excited about how many more people can be helped with more volunteers.”
Rural Aid’s Farm Army have assisted farmers and rural Aussies from Victoria to Queensland, and New South Wales to Western Australia. The tasks they complete range from Farm Sitting, to skilled labour such as building and mechanical work. People are loving the opportunities to get away from the city, meet new people, and put in the hard yards.
Volunteer Lee Bartlett who recently gave his time to assist farmers affected by the Sir Ivan fires said “The hospitality was great and we made some new friends. Donating our time gave us a great feeling inside and we will be definitely going on another trip.”
