Wilamina Russo- Artist mentor and broadcaster, Painting in Paddocks

30 paintings sold in 30 minutes! Artist mentorand broadcastor Wilamina Russo raised $6000 for Rural aid with the support ofthe Australian art community. Throughout the month of November a new artist wasprofiled each day, with all 30 works going up for sale on Nov 30 at 6pm AEDT.People from all over Australia set alarms for the release and by 6:30pm everywork was sold. When asked about the experience, Willy said:

"I couldn't have done it without all of the artists and my colleague Sean Hatzi. The whole experience was really positive. It was great to bring more awareness to Rural Aid and also theAustralian arts community."

Whittlesea Agricultural Society

Despite the changing landscape, the society remains committed to supporting agriculture. This year, we raised donations for Rural Aid through a well-supported Trivia Night with approximately 120 attendees. The event featured trivia rounds, and auctions. Generous local and outside businesses donated a range of items including vouchers, plants, wine, gourmet hampers, car products, B & B weekend package, craft items and chocolates.We hope ‘Rural Aid’ continues to be well supported by communities all over Australia as farming and agricultural practices are the backbone to our economy, our food supply and our way of life.

Gemlife Bongaree

Lynne Brand had a vision in which all the residents could participate. “Let's raise money for our hard-working farmers. Let our feet and hearts lighten the load. After all,” Brand said, “a burden shared is a burden halved.”Brand organized 27 of GemLife's 31 interest groups to learn the Tina Turner Nutbush dance, creating a half-hour video. On August 20 2023, the video was shown in the GemLife clubhouse, where raffles and donations raised for Rural Aid. Over 200 residents attended the event.

When we all get together, we can lighten the load for others in need.
