FARM Recovery & COMMUNITY Events Coordinator
Location: Indooroopilly, Queensland
This role will be responsible for:
- Acting as the senior point of contact (and Host) at our Farm Recovery Volunteer Camps held around regional Australia.
- Maintaining, monitoring and evaluating Volunteer records and data, including registrations, preferences, locations, resources and skills, plus actively recruiting Volunteers to our cause.
- Liaising and communicating with Farmers (in identified locations) to learn of pressing needs or understand essential repairs required following recent (not current) natural disasters or sustained local challenges impacting their local region.
- Facilitating the allocation of resources, scheduling and assisting management with planning multiple Recovery Events spread across the calendar year (with exception of high summer).
- Arranging and facilitating (Campsite) accommodation, catering, supplies & Volunteer facilities to support our hard-working attendees.
- Collaborating with local Councils & other local organisations to access services, equipment and resources.
- Managing spending and purchasing of materials (typically from Local Suppliers) to support the repair work(s) on each farm and/or establish accounts with providers (eg Hire Co.) where required.
- Overseeing and allocating workloads, teams, role-scoping activities as well as associated services such a catering, vehicles, equipment and safety supplies.
- Ensuring risk assessment and safety documentation is pre-prepared, completed, up to date and all WHS matters are managed professionally and reported accordingly to management; and,
- Undertaking media interviews, snapping photos and reporting on Camp activities and generally representing Rural Aid to promote the broad range of services we offered to farmers, including but not limited to, this invaluable program.
