Media and Communications Officer
Location: Indooroopilly, Queensland
This role will be responsible for:
Media and Communications Support
- Provide advice and support to Rural Aid leadership
- Support corporate partner campaigns
- Develop and leverage relationships with key media contacts at all levels
- Work with journalists for media presence and coverage
- Monitor news cycle for engagement opportunities
- Identify opportunities for Rural Aid to voice opinions on topical issues
- Promote sponsor and stakeholder impact in the media
- Maintain media lists and manage media analytics/reporting
Content Creation
- Write media releases, pitches, talking points, articles, blogs, profiles
- Interview and write up case studies, success stories and advocacy pieces
- Contribute to digital and social media content to drive engagement and build audiences
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to communication and engagement plans, plus our 10yr anniversary program 2025
- Develop a twelve-month media and communication activity calendar
- Contribute to issues and crisis management planning
- Review and evaluate communications processes
