Southern Central Wheatbelt, Western Australia
Eight towns participated in Stage 1 of the Southern Central Wheatbelt Community Builders program, including Cuballing/Popanyinning, Darkan, Dumbleyung, Kulin, Narrogin, Pingelly, Wagin, and Yealering Lakes. Stage 1 involved monthly community conversations to share community-building skills and knowledge, and strengthen the connections between towns in the region.
Following this, Stage 2 commenced and each town was offered the chance to participate in Community Opportunity Workshops (C.O.W.s). The towns of Darkan, Wagin, Kulin, Narrogin, Cuballing/Popanyinning and Pingelly participated in C.O.W.s which involved asset-mapping their towns and brainstorming big ideas for the future through a series of interactive workshops and focus groups. Each town then developed a unique Community Action Plan, which can be found below.
